Telegram on the Operational Deployment of a Division of the 42nd Army (November 1, 1950) To Peng and Deng [1], with copy to Gao [2]: Please consider having the one division of the 42nd Army now located around Xingchuandong swiftly seize Ningyuan, Dekcheon, and Mungsan, and simultaneously dispatch a regiment southward beyond Mungsan to occupy the railway line between Yangde and Seongchon, thereby preventing any possible reinforcements from either Pyongyang or Wonsan.

Peng refers to Peng Dehuai, who at the time served as Commander and Political Commissar of the Chinese People’s Volunteers.
Deng refers to Deng Hua, who at the time was Deputy Commander and Deputy Political Commissar of the Chinese People’s Volunteers. [ ] Gao refers to Gao Gang, who at the time was Commander and Political Commissar of the Northeast Military Region of the People’s Liberation Army of China.
