Operational Tasks of the Ninth Army Group
(October 31, 1950)

To Song and Tao,[1] and inform Chen, Rao, Zhang; Peng, Deng; Gao, He[2]:

(1) The entire Ninth Army Group is to start moving on November 1, sending one army first, and the other two armies will follow immediately without interruption.

(2) Upon arrival, the Army Group will be under the command of the CPV Headquarters, with the objective of seeking opportunities to destroy the enemy forces one by one, targeting the South Korean Capital Division, the 3rd Division, the U.S. 7th Division, and the 1st Marine Division—four divisions in total. The enemy is currently located in the areas of Songjin,[3] Hamhung, Wonsan and north of them, and appears to be moving in separate columns to attack towards the direction of Linjiang and Ji’an.[4]

(3) Matters concerning the army service stations must be handled by establishing their own organs.
