Telegraph from the Central Military Commission Regarding the Direct Command of the 66th Army by the Volunteer Army Headquarters (October 26, 1950) To Peng and Deng[1] and for information to Gao, He, and Zhang[2]: Please assume direct command of the 66th Army, assign it missions and provide leadership, and promptly establish radio communications in order to facilitate the defense of the Sinŭiju–Ch’ŏlsan area and to thwart or annihilate any possible offensive by the British 27th Armoured Brigade and other units.
