CCP Central Military Commission Telegram on the Movements of the Puppet 1st, 6th, and 8th Divisions (October 26, 1950) To Peng and Gao [1]: (1) The unit that came into contact with our forces at Fuyudong was the 2nd Regiment of the Puppet 6th Division.
One battalion of the division’s 7th Regiment had advanced to Haimudong, while the remainder were engaged in mopping-up operations near Hichon.
The division’s 19th Regiment was constructing an airfield at Hichon.
It is estimated that these two regiments will reinforce the 2nd Regiment today, the 26th.
Yesterday’s report stating that this division had moved toward Chushan was due to a mistake by the staff officers. (2) The 21st Regiment of the Puppet 8th Division began moving north from Sumindong on the 24th and had presumably reached the Hichon area by yesterday, the 25th.
The division’s 10th and 16th Regiments were still around Songjeong-ri and Deokchon as of yesterday, the 25th; they may advance toward Hichon today, the 26th, possibly leaving a portion behind in Deokchon to guard the airfield. (3) The Puppet 1st Division itself comprises three regiments—the 11th, 12th, and 15th—plus the 8th Regiment attached from the Puppet 7th Division, making a total of four regiments.
If the regiment that clashed with our 120th Division at Ridong indeed belongs to the Puppet 1st Division, then the division’s main force may be moving to reinforce Ridong.
Please take note.
