Telegram to Peng Dehuai, Gao Gang, and Others on the Time of Deployment of the Advance Units of the Volunteer Army

Peng and Gao, with copies to Deng, Hong, Han, and Xie:

(1) The two advance armies should be prepared to move out on the nineteenth. A formal order will be issued tomorrow (the eighteenth).

(2) Comrades Peng and Gao are requested to come to Beijing by plane for a discussion tomorrow (the eighteenth).

[1] Peng Dehuai was then serving as Commander and Political Commissar of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army. Gao Gang was then serving as Commander and Political Commissar of the Northeast Military Region of the People's Liberation Army.

[2] Deng refers to Deng Hua, then serving as Commander and Political Commissar of the Thirteenth Army Corps of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army. Hong and Han refer to Hong Xuezhi and Han Xianchu, both then serving as Deputy Commanders of the Thirteenth Army Corps of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army. Xie refers to Xie Fang, then serving as Chief of Staff of the Thirteenth Army Corps of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army.
