Telegraph from the Central Military Commission Concerning the Border Defense Forces’ Readiness to Deploy at Any Time (October 2, 1950) Comrades Gao Gang[1] and Deng Hua[2]:  (1) Upon receipt of this telegram, Comrade Gao Gang is requested to set out immediately for Beijing to attend a meeting;  (2) Comrade Deng Hua is requested to order the Border Defense Forces to conclude their preparatory work ahead of schedule, remain on standby for immediate deployment, and engage the newly identified enemy in accordance with the original plan;  (3) Comrade Deng is requested to telegraph without delay a report on the state of preparations and whether the forces can be dispatched forthwith.
