(September 29, 1950)
Comrade Qiaomu:

Please check whether past propaganda contained any stipulation about attacking Taiwan in 1950. Someone says he saw a statement in this year’s New Year’s Day document saying that Taiwan would be attacked this year. Is that true or not? In the future, please take care to say only that we will attack Taiwan and Tibet, without specifying any time. I have already deleted entirely the 1951 tasks from the congratulatory messages of the various parties and groups, because they included an item on attacking Taiwan and Tibet.
