Comments on the Northern Transfer and Reorganization of the Ninth Corps [1] (September 8, 1950) The entire Ninth Corps may be concentrated along the Xuzhou–Jinan line by the end of October, and reorganization training can begin in mid-November. During its period of reorganization at this location, the corps will remain under the East China Military Region’s command structure; however, it would be advisable for both its equipment and the overall plan for reorganization to be directly supervised by the Central Military Commission. Issued by Mao Zedong on September 8, based on the handwritten draft. Note [1]: These comments were written on a report submitted by the East China Military Region of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army on September 5, 1950, concerning procedures for the northern transfer of the Ninth Corps.
