〔1〕Luo Shiquan (1888–1951), a native of Yanglin Village, Yanglin Township, Shaoshan City, Hunan Province, was a village teacher. He was a cousin of Mao Zedong’s first wife, surnamed Luo. In 1925, he participated in the Shaoshan peasant movement and joined the Communist Party of China. He served as an executive member of the Xiangtan (Shaoshan) Special District Peasant Association and an executive member of the Merchants’ Association in Hunan.
