According to the source, Zhang is a native of Changsha, Hunan, and had studied in a q
tutorial school affiliated with the “Self-Teaching University” founded in Changsha by 4
Mao Zedong, He Shuheng, et al. in August 1921. ’

Mr. Zhang Ding:

I have received your letter of October 25 last year and with it the photo- ]
graphs of Mao Zetan' and company. Thank you so much for your kind |
thoughts. To join the Party you must do it at the local level and in accordance ‘
with the set regulations.
