A Letter to Yang Shangkun [1]
(May 29, 1950)

Comrade Shangkun:

Please take the Central Committee’s directive on rectification issued on May 1 of this year, the Central Committee’s directive on developing and consolidating Party organizations (of May), the resolution on strengthening cooperation with non-Party masses, the resolution on launching self-criticism in newspapers and periodicals, along with the most recent telegrams concerning the rectification and mobilization of Party cadres from seven bodies — the East China Bureau, the South China Sub-Bureau, the Southwest Bureau, the Northwest Bureau, the First Field Army, the North China Bureau, and the Inner Mongolia Sub-Bureau — and compile them together under the title “Rectification Documents (Compiled and Printed by the Central Committee on June 1, 1950).” Have this printed as a single volume within three or four days, with a total of one hundred and fifty copies, to be distributed to all those attending the Third Plenary Session.
