Letter and Inscription to Zhang Huizhou
(March 14, 1950)

Huizhou, my fellow student:

I received and read your letter of December 16 last year. The proposal to travel north is a grand one, but it would be better to postpone it for the time being. At present, you should continue your work where you are; there is no need to journey far. Your grandson should also enroll in school right there according to government regulations. This is my respectful reply.

I wish you
great peace and well-being!
Strive in your self-cultivation, and remain vigorous in spirit despite advancing age.

To my brother Huizhou
