Farewell Address at the Moscow Railway Station (February 17, 1950) Dear Comrades, Friends: On this occasion, I, together with my colleagues in the Chinese delegation, including Comrade Zhou Enlai, had the privilege of meeting Marshal Stalin and other leading officials of the Soviet government in Moscow.
The mutual understanding and profound friendship that have developed between us—based on the fundamental interests of the peoples of China and the Soviet Union—are beyond words.
It is evident that the solidarity between our two great nations, now enshrined in treaty form, will be everlasting, unbreakable, and indivisible.
This unity will undoubtedly not only promote the prosperity of China and the Soviet Union but also shape the future of humanity, contributing to the triumph of peace and justice throughout the world.
During our stay in the Soviet Union, we visited numerous factories and farms, witnessing the remarkable achievements of Soviet workers, farmers, and intellectuals in building socialism.
We observed how the revolutionary spirit and practical approach of the Soviet people, nurtured under the guidance of Comrade Stalin and the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, are perfectly combined.
This confirmed the long-held conviction of the Chinese Communists that the Soviet Union’s experience in economic, cultural, and other vital areas of development will serve as a model for the construction of New China.
We were warmly received both in the Soviet capital, Moscow, and in Lenin City, the birthplace of the October Revolution.
As we prepare to depart this great socialist metropolis, we wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to Marshal Stalin, the Soviet government, and the Soviet people.
Long live the eternal friendship and cooperation between China and the Soviet Union!
Long live the Soviet people!
Long live Comrade Stalin, the mentor of the world revolution and the dear friend of the Chinese people!
