Telegram Regarding Approval for the 43rd Army to Send One Regiment Across the Strait First to Lin Biao [1] (February 12, 1950) To Comrade Lin Biao via the Central Committee: We have received your telegram of 8:00 p.m. on February 10 and approve the 43rd Army’s plan to send one regiment across the strait first, with the remaining units to follow in successive waves when opportunities arise.
If this approach proves effective, it may enable the early liberation of Hainan Island.
