Criticism in a Telegram to Hu Qiaomu[2]
(14 January 1950)

Comrade Qiaomu:
I am leaving for a visit to Leningrad at nine o’clock this evening and will be away for three days before returning. The draft editorial for Renmin Ribao and the resolution of the Political Bureau of the Japanese Communist Party have not yet been received. If you wait for me to review them, a reply telegram cannot be sent until the 17th. Otherwise, Comrade Shaoqi may review them and proceed with publication. Our Party should express its opinion, support the criticism of Nosaka Sanzo by the journal of the Information Bureau, and express regret that the Political Bureau of the Japanese Communist Party has failed to accept this criticism. It is hoped that the Japanese Communist Party will take appropriate steps to correct Nosaka Sanzo’s errors.
