Telegram to Zhou Enlai on the Issue of Import and Export Trade
(7 January 1950)
Enlai, and the Central Committee:
Both telegrams on diplomatic handling of Britain, India, and other countries, as well as the telegram of 8:00 a.m., 5 January on import and export trade, have been noted. The types and quantities of imports and exports for the entire year of 1950 for Romania, Thailand, Australia, Canada, Japan, and the United States must be determined, otherwise we will fall into passivity. After Enlai leaves the capital, please ask Shaoqi and Chen Yun and Bo Yibo to pay attention to this matter.
