Letter to Mao Yuju[1]
(November 28, 1949)

Dear Brother Yuju:
Your gracious letter and poems[2] have been received and read with great appreciation. I am extremely grateful. As for the situation here, Zelian[3] will likely be able to convey it to you in person.

I take this opportunity to extend my regards to all the elders, peers, and juniors of the Yan clan, and to wish good health to all the brothers, sons, and nephews of your esteemed household.

Mao Zedong
