(November 27, 1949)
Serve the people wholeheartedly.
Mao Zedong
\[1]
The predecessor of the Central Military Commission Engineering School was the Central Military Commission Communications School, founded in February 1931 in Ruijin, Jiangxi. In January 1937, the school followed the central leading organs in relocating to Yan'an, and was commonly known as the "Yan'an Communications School." In 1948, it was expanded into the North China Military Region Telecommunications Engineering Academy (abbreviated as the "North China Telecommunications Academy"). On November 27, 1949, to celebrate the opening of the Central Military Commission Engineering School, Mao Zedong personally wrote the inscription: "Serve the people wholeheartedly," which was published in the school's journal at the time.
