General Nie Rongzhen Succeeds as Mayor of Beiping

[Xinhua News Agency, Beiping, the 8th] General Ye Jianying, who served as both Mayor of Beiping and Director of the Beiping Military Control Commission, has been ordered to take up work in Guangdong and Guangxi, where he will assume the post of First Secretary of the South China Branch of the CPC Central Committee (with Zhang Yunyi as Second Secretary and Fang Fang as Third Secretary). In light of this, the Chinese People’s Revolutionary Military Commission has appointed General Nie Rongzhen to succeed him as Mayor of Beiping and Director of the Beiping Military Control Commission.
