To Wang Shoudao\[1\]
(September 13, 1949)

Mr. Tan Jiefu, a professor at Hunan University, has written to state that he intends to travel north for a visit when transportation is fully restored, and so forth. This person is someone I knew in the past and has taught for several decades. Please dispatch someone to investigate his political background and inform me. Also explain to him my opinion: when transportation is fully restored, he may come to Beiping for a tour once, then still return to Hunan to teach at Hunan University, without making plans for a prolonged stay in Beiping. If this is his intention, I welcome him to come to Beiping to have a look.
