[1] Mao Zedong made multiple revisions to the draft of the *Common Programme of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference* and wrote some annotations. These documentary materials have not all been preserved. The five annotations selected here reflect only one aspect.
[2] Qiaomu, namely Hu Qiaomu, was then serving as Mao Zedong’s secretary. These five annotations were all written to him.
