Instructions on a Letter from Xue Yu[1]

There is a dispute over buildings between the Peking University Medical College and the Military Commission. Ask Nie[2] to have Zhu Zaoguan[3] investigate and handle the matter, and report the result to me. If there is no major obstacle, it is advisable to yield them to Peking University.

[1] Xue Yu (1894–1988), pharmaceutical chemist and educator in pharmacy, native of Xiangyang, Hubei Province. At the time, he served as director of the Department of Pharmacy at the Peking University Medical College.

[2] Nie refers to Nie Rongzhen, then commander of the Pingjin Garrison Command.

[3] Zhu Zaoguan, then deputy director of the General Office of the Central Military Commission of the CPC Central Committee.
