Our forces are advancing into the region centered on Chenzhou and are preparing to engage Bai Chongxi’s army there
(it is estimated that Bai Chongxi’s force numbers approximately 250,000 men and may engage our troops in this area).
If these seven armies can reach the Yuxian–Xiangxi line around mid-July, they could concentrate in the Chenzhou area by mid- or late August for a month-long rest and reorganization. Thereafter, from mid- or late September onward, they would be ready to advance into Guangdong and Guangxi.
(3) According to Zeng Sheng, acting under your orders to lead a Nationalist division, he departed Beiping on Chenhui day; it will not be until Huihui day that the unit can assemble in Kaifeng and complete its amalgamation with the Guangzhou Column, requiring about one month. Only then, around Wuhui day, will it be possible to move south along the Longhai Railway. We request that you instruct Zeng Sheng to ensure his unit reaches the Chenzhou area by late August or early September, so as not to miss the opportunity to advance into Guangdong and Guangxi together with the main force.
(4) The above points are submitted for your consideration.
