(1) The deadline for signing the peace agreement is set for 20 April (as per the Maozeit date designation). This is being announced to the Nanjing delegation today [the 15th]. Whether they sign or not, they must make their attitude clear before that date; after that date, our army will immediately cross the river.

(2) The final revised draft of the peace agreement is being delivered to the Nanjing delegation today [the 15th]. Tomorrow [the 16th], they will send Huang Shaoxiong to fly to Nanjing to seek instructions. It is still difficult to predict whether Nanjing is willing to sign; there is a possibility of refusal.

(3) Upon receiving this telegram, you must immediately prepare to definitely capture, on the 20th (Maozeit date), all strongholds on the northern bank and mid-river islets apart from Anqing and the Two Pus (Pukou and Puzhen). Be sure not to make any mistake.
