Deployment for the Resolution of the Taiyuan Issue[1]

Lin, Luo, Nie; Yang, Luo, Geng; Yang, Li[2]; and to be notified to the North China Bureau and Xu, Zhou, Chen[3]:

All telegrams noted. (1) Following the peaceful resolution of the Beiping issue, there is also the possibility of a peaceful resolution at Taiyuan. The extended rest and reorganization of the North China First and Second Armies should be scheduled for after the capture of Taiyuan. (2) Yang, Luo, Geng and Yang, Li, after the arrival of the forces sent by Lin and Luo to relieve their defense duties, shall proceed to the vicinity of Shijiazhuang for half a month’s rest and reorganization, and then advance on Taiyuan. (3) The two artillery regiments temporarily attached from the Northeast shall advance directly on Taiyuan, under the command of Xu, Zhou, and Chen, control all airfields at Taiyuan, compel the bandit Yan[4] to negotiate, and receive Taiyuan peacefully. Should the bandit Yan stubbornly resist, then await the arrival of the North China Second and Third Armies before launching an assault on the city.
