Chairman Mao and Commander-in-Chief Zhu Cable Congratulations on the Establishment of the Korean Government

(Xinhua News Agency, Northern Shaanxi, September 19) Mao Zedong, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Zhu De, Commander-in-Chief of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, have sent a cable congratulating the convening of the Korean Supreme People's Assembly and the establishment of the Government of the Korean People's Democratic Republic.

The cable reads:
To Chairman Kim Tu-bong of the Presidium of the Korean Supreme People's Assembly and Premier Kim Il-sung of the Government of the Korean People's Democratic Republic:

The convening of the unified, independent, and democratic Korean Supreme People's Assembly and the establishment of the Government of the Korean People's Democratic Republic represent a great victory for the liberation cause of the Korean people and a tremendous inspiration for the liberation cause of all East Asian nations. On behalf of the Chinese people, we extend our warm congratulations.
