Comrade ××’s conscientious self-criticism is most commendable. With such self-criticism, it becomes possible for the broad ranks of cadres to gradually acquire a firm grasp of the Party’s strategic and policy perspectives. Without a comprehensive understanding of these perspectives, the Chinese revolution can never achieve final victory. What is most dangerous is the complacency and self-satisfaction among leading cadres: they lack both strategic and policy acumen, yet they turn a blind eye to the Central Committee’s directives—failing to study these directives carefully, neglecting strategic and policy guidance in favor of routine administrative tasks, and thereby shirking their primary responsibilities in this regard. We require all responsible comrades at various levels to submit a comprehensive work report every two months, precisely in order to report to the Central Committee on these strategic and policy guidelines, on the outcomes of their implementation, and on the self-criticism prompted by those outcomes—these being the core components of their daily work.
