February 25, 1948 () Mr. Li Dingming, together with many other enlightened gentry like himself, resolutely joined forces with the Chinese Communist Party during the arduous period of the Chinese people’s national democratic struggle—when Japanese imperialists were aggressing against China and U.S. imperialists were aiding Chiang Kai-shek’s bandit clique in waging a counter-revolutionary civil war—out of a sense of justice. All genuinely patriotic, democratic, and enlightened gentry who have opposed imperialist aggression and Chiang Kai-shek’s dictatorship, supported the people’s revolutionary war, and sympathized with the abolition of the feudal system and the implementation of land reform, whether in the past or present, have been members of the Chinese national united front for revolution. We hereby express our condolences on the passing of Mr. Li Dingming.
