Reply to Zhu De, Liu Shaoqi, and Others[1]

(September 24, 1947)

In this Battle of the Daqing River,[2] a portion of the enemy was annihilated. Although a major victory was not achieved, the fighting spirit was excellent, and it does not matter much that casualties were relatively high. Rest and reorganize for a number of days, and deploy new operations according to the specific conditions of the area. As long as there is victory, whether large or small, it is good. In all matters, independently deploy operations or rest according to your own conditions, without worrying about coordination with the Northeast or other regions.
