Letter to Chen Jinkun1
(July 13, 1947)
Comrade Jinlao:
I received your letter. I am very glad to hear that you and your family are content
with your life in the countryside. Legislative work is a new department, and it is
a great thing that you are taking charge and performing meritorious service. The
current situation is as you had predicted; the people’s war is developing, and we
must keep up our arduous struggle for a few years. We are all very well here, so
don’t worry about us. Respectfully, I reply.
Best wishes!
Peace!
Mao Zedong
