Two paragraphs added when revising “Strive Hard to Welcome Victory — In Commemoration of the 26th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China” (July 1, 1947)

We have a great national united front, which includes the workers, peasants, intellectuals, petty bourgeoisie, patriotic national capitalists, enlightened gentry, minority nationalities, and overseas Chinese — this is the entire people of China. On the road ahead there will still be difficulties; we must face these difficulties squarely. It is better to make long-term plans and not entertain the theory of quick victory. Where there are difficulties, we must overcome them, and we can certainly overcome them. Compatriots, comrades, advance bravely, strive hard, and welcome victory.
