Agree to the Northwest Field Army Corps’ June Operational Policy

(May 14, 1947)

Zhou, Lu; Peng, Xi[1]; and inform Chen, Xie[2]:

The Hanchen telegram[3] noted. (1) Fully agree to the June operational policy. Except for leaving the 7th Guard Regiment at its current location, the entire army shall move out to Longdong, first strike the New 1st Brigade, then strike the 100th Brigade or other diehard units. (2) In the current short period, apart from detaching a portion of Chen-Xie’s forces to clear out the diehard enemy in the Lüliang Mountains and open a westward advance route, the main force shall rest and reorganize, awaiting orders to cross the river. After the Chen-Xie Corps crosses the river, it may either operate separately from the Border Region Corps for a period and then concentrate for operations, or concentrate for operations from the very beginning, to be determined according to the circumstances at that time.
