Telegram to Zhang Zongxun and Others[1]

(March 10, 1947)

(1) Reliable information from Xi’an indicates that Hu Zongnan has prepared a thousand paratroopers, assembled in Xi’an on yinqi[2], standing by for orders to take off and raid Yan’an; (2) It is imperative that the New Fourth Brigade immediately set out for Yan’an, covering the distance in a two-day march to reach the vicinity of Yan’an and defend Yan’an.
