One day in November 1946, Mao Zedong made a special visit to the Yan’an Los Angeles Nursery to see the children. At the request of the nursery staff, Mao wrote an inscription for them before leaving: "Progress has been made; strive for further progress."

Rebellion has been made; strive for further rebellion—Mao Zedong’s inscription for the Yan’an Los Angeles Nursery.
