Study the art of destroying tanks[1]

(May 18, 1946)

Lin:

(1) One division of the 16th Army attacked Panggezhuang[2] south of Beiping city, using tank assaults. Encountering our strong fortifications, their attacks were ineffective, and we are now counterattacking. The diehard army is preparing to use tanks in the Siping area; you are advised to study the art of destroying the enemy's tanks. (2) Our sabotage operations in Rehe have been underway for four days. Besides pinning down the entire 13th Army and rendering it immobile, we have also drawn one newly arrived division of the 93rd Army to Rehe[3]. Under these circumstances, the 93rd Army can only cope with Rehe and the Beiping-Liaoning Railway[4]. (3) According to information, the 14th Division of the New 6th Army is being deployed in the Xifeng area; please take note.
