Agree to Ye’s joining the Party. Both Ye’s telegram and the Central Committee’s reply telegram shall be broadcast this evening. Upon receipt, publish them in *Xinhua Daily* and inform Ye in advance, but do not place an advertisement.

[1] This is the main content of a telegram drafted by Mao Zedong for the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to Dong Biwu and Wang Ruofei, concerning Ye Ting’s telegram of March 5 to the Central Committee and Mao Zedong applying for Party membership. On March 8, *Liberation Daily* and *Xinhua Daily* published the Central Committee’s reply telegram to Ye Ting: “You have waged a struggle of more than twenty years for the cause of China’s national liberation and the people’s liberation, and have undergone all kinds of severe tests. All of China is well acquainted with your boundless loyalty to the nation and the people. It is hereby decided to accept you as a member of the Communist Party of China, and we extend to you our warm regards and welcome.”
