"Mao Zedong and Chiang Kai-shek" (Chinese painting)
Mao Zedong's inscription for democratic personages[1]
(September 2, 1945)

Light is in sight.

[1] In 1945, during the Kuomintang-Communist negotiations, Mao Zedong made "three visits to the Special Garden." The second visit to the Special Garden took place on September 2, when Zhang Lan and Xian Ying, in the name of the China Democratic League, hosted a banquet for Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, and Wang Ruofei at the Special Garden. Mao Zedong inscribed the four characters "Light is in sight" in the commemorative album.
