Your telegram of August 23 has been read. I deeply appreciate your gracious sentiments. I earnestly desire to meet with you to discuss together the great plan of peaceful national reconstruction. As soon as the airplane arrives, Comrade Zhou Enlai will immediately proceed to Chongqing to call on you, and I also plan to proceed to Chongqing right away. Looking forward to the occasion when I may receive your instruction, I hereby reply.
