Speech at a Meeting of the Presidium of the Seventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Heads of the Delegations[1]

(May 8, 1945)

It is better to postpone the conclusions a bit and allow more time for deliberation; there are many good opinions in the small groups. It is better to assess China’s Scobies more seriously; Chiang Kai-shek will definitely oppose the Communist Party. In short, this time the Soviet Union has become strong, the people have become awakened, and our Party has also become strong. It is good that comrades emphasize the difficulties, but the conclusions should point out more of the bright side.
