Speech at the Meeting of the Presidium of the Seventh Plenary Session of the Sixth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China[1]

(November 6, 1944)

Chiang Kai-shek wants Hurley to mediate, which can bring him the great benefit of saving his life. As for what he can offer, he may give a little something. He gives small things, imposes restrictions, and thereby gains the great benefit of saving his life. Regarding the Kuomintang issue, Hurley is quite optimistic. When Hurley comes, we should hold a welcoming reception, with Zhou Enlai making the introductions, and then arrange a musical evening.
