Annotation on a Report from Jin Cheng Dated the 6th Concerning the Impact of the "Rescue Movement" on Qian Zheng and His Children

(February 8, 1944)

Qian Zheng should be treated with leniency. He may not be a traitor. Whether his son-in-law is a spy remains questionable. If not, he should be rehabilitated.

[1] Jin Cheng was then serving as Director of the Communications Office of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region Government. Qian Zheng, a member of the Tongmenghui, participated in the 1911 Revolution. He arrived in Yan'an in 1943 and became a councilor of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region Assembly in 1945. Shortly after Mao Zedong's annotation, Qian Zheng and his son-in-law were rehabilitated.
