Speech at a Meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China[1]

(December 1, 1943)

Our current programme is very simple: it is the anti-imperialist and anti-feudal revolution of the popular masses under the leadership of the proletariat; all politics, economy, military affairs, and culture are like this. Within this there is the struggle of the popular masses against imperialism and feudalism. The popular masses are very numerous, first the several hundred million peasants, next the several tens of millions of petty bourgeoisie. In the anti-imperialist and anti-feudal struggle, the bourgeoisie also participates, and during the anti-Japanese period the landlords also participate, but it must be under the leadership of the proletariat. Many comrades, such as Comrade Wang Ming, do not understand this point.
