Speech at the Closing Session of the Second Assembly of Representatives of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region[1]

(November 21, 1941)

The successful conclusion of this Assembly of Representatives, in addition to passing very good resolutions, has, first of all, exposed many things about us—it has exposed our good aspects, and at the same time, it has also exposed many of our shortcomings. Secondly, this Assembly of Representatives has been a great learning experience. Through close cooperation between Party and non-Party personages in the three-level assemblies of representatives at the township, county, and border region levels, we can overcome the weakness of closed-doorism among many of our comrades.
