Directive on the Immediate Organization of Senior Study Groups in Various Localities

To the Northern Bureau and its Military Sub-Commission, the Central China Bureau and its Military Sub-Commission, the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Sub-Bureau, the Shandong Sub-Bureau, the Party Committee of the Northwestern Shanxi Region, the 120th Division, the Military and Political Committee of the 129th Division, Comrades Nie, Lü, and Cheng[1]:

Please give immediate consideration to the matter in accordance with the Central Committee’s decision on senior study groups, and draw up the lists of participants for the senior study groups in your respective areas (indicating their current posts and Party standing), as well as the names of the group leaders, deputy leaders, and secretaries. Report these by telegram to the Central Committee so that study materials can be assigned and study can commence. (The senior study group in Chongqing has already been established, with a total of 25 members, Zhou Enlai serving as group leader and Dong Biwu as deputy leader.)
