[1] Liu Xuewei (1912–1998), a native of Langdai, Guizhou (now part of Liupanshui Municipality). At the time, he served as deputy director of the Yan'an Sunday Literature and Art Academy.

[2] This refers to the lecture outline on the history of modern Chinese literature written by Liu Xuewei. The author originally intended to write a book on the history of modern Chinese literature based on this outline, but later condensed it into the first chapter ("What the History of the New Literature Explains") of his book *On the Worker-Peasant-Soldier Orientation in Literature*. The book was published in May 1948 by Dalian Guanghua Bookstore.
