Directive to the Heads of Various Army Corps[1]

(July 30, 1941)

The process of training medical personnel is very long, and their techniques are not easily made advanced and profound. Our army's medical construction has not made great progress in terms of technology. Henceforth, we should, as far as possible, absorb medical personnel with high-level and profound technical skills from the Great Rear Area and the vast enemy-occupied areas.

[1] This is the main content of a directive issued by Mao Zedong, together with Zhu De, Wang Jiaxiang, and Ye Jianying, to the heads of various army corps on the issue of absorbing medical personnel to the greatest extent possible.
