Speech on the Current Situation[1]

(March 12, 1941)

The recent session of the People's Political Council, which the Chinese Communist Party did not attend and from which Zou Taofen and others withdrew, has turned into an anti-communist and reactionary organ of public opinion. In his report to the Council, Chiang Kai-shek declared that not a single one of the twelve demands put forward by our Party could be accepted. For the time being, we shall ignore him and launch a political offensive when the Kuomintang convenes its Eighth Plenary Session.
