The Current Situation and the Chinese Communist Party’s Countermeasures[1]

(February 27, 1941)

At present, both the Kuomintang and the British and American sides fear a split between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party. Chiang Kai-shek is attempting to draw our Party and the various minor parties into participating in the People’s Political Council. Our countermeasure is that if Chiang does not agree to the twelve demands we have put forward, we will not attend the People’s Political Council.
