To Ye Ting and Xiang Ying[1]

(November 1, 1940)

Ye and Xiang:

(A) Your telegram of the 30th received. Request that Gu Zhutong designate the six counties of Langxi, Guangde, Liyang, Lishui, Jintan, and Yixing as our defense area, and guarantee safety along the route during movement; you may agree to move to southern Jiangsu. If Gu does not agree, you may ask Mr. Xiyi to make a trip to northern Jiangsu. (B) The liaison work among the friendly armies in southern Anhui should be greatly developed. This has particularly serious significance and effect for you today, and your achievements in this regard have not been great.

Mao, Zhu, Wang
