Telegram to Persons in Charge of the Eighth Route Army’s Various Offices[1]

(October 18, 1940)

The Kuomintang may possibly raid our offices. As a precaution, it is hoped that all secret documents will be burned and that preparations be made at any time to deal with raids, handling the matter with a calm attitude. At no time should there be panic or disorder.

[1] This is the main content of a telegram drafted by Mao Zedong for the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to persons in charge of the Eighth Route Army’s various offices.
